We are looking for a computer vision engineer to join our team. The focus of this role is on implementing, optimising, deploying and maintaining computer vision algorithms with the primary responsibility of creating reliable and scalable systems to run in both cloud and portable devices.

The role

A Computer vision engineer, while working in an agile team, you will take responsibilities from day one. Some of your principal tasks will be:

  • Working with the deep learning team to research, develop, evaluate and optimise various computer vision and deep learning models for different problems, ensuring a fast workflow for shipping new algorithms into the product.
  • Adapting 3D reconstruction and deep learning-based algorithms for production.
  • Optimising these algorithms to run in production efficiently.
  • Designing scalable systems to serve computer vision models.
  • Take ownership to drive computer vision solutions and meet business requirements.
  • Deploying computer vision models on mobile devices and optimising them to obtain high throughput.

The skill set

Our ideal candidate would have

  • MSc or PhD in computer science, data science, machine learning or in related fields are preferred but candidates with Bachelor’s degree in computer science are also welcome to apply.
  • Depth and breadth knowledge about computer vision, deep learning and computer graphics algorithms.
  • At least 3 years of experience in computer vision and/or deep learning in industry.
  • Ability to transform research articles into working solutions to solve real-world problems.
  • Experience with machine/deep learning frameworks like pytorch and/or tensorflow models.
  • Proficiency in Python and numerical packages like numpy.
  • Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
  • Start-up/entrepreneur experience, hands on and mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively communicating with the team and ability to presenting information to varied technical and non-technical audience.
  • Must be able to produce solutions independently in an organised manner and also be able to work in a team when required.
  • Proficient in English, and a + in Spanish (both spoken and written) + another language is great.

We also value very positively

  • Advanced knowledge in performance, scalability, numerical accuracy and best practices for implementing various solutions.
  • Proficiency with edge computing principles and architecture.
  • Experience in different model optimization techniques apart from hyper parameter tuning to reduce memory usage without hindering the performance for deploying on edge devices.
  • Proficiency with AWS.
  • Experience in Agile Application Development and Scrum methodologies to develop efficient, maintainable, readable and production-ready pipelines.
  • Must have curiosity, eagerness and motivation to be involved in data science and image processing.
